Feeding 5000 Sleepout Details

We are raising awareness by having you experience the plight of homelessness in our area. Did you ever, not know where you were going to sleep or find your next meal? Become an advocate for the homeless and hungry. Sleepout with us for one night in October.

 

When:

Friday October 18th, 7:00pm until Saturday October 19th 8:00am, rain or shine

 

Location Change:

New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 240 Creek Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054

 

Registration and Fees:

$10.00 per participant - and we hope participants ask families, friends, co-workers, etc. to sponsor them. Any amount will help us sustain our efforts.
All proceeds will be used by Feeding 5000 to support the ministry and our outreach programs. All participants must sign a waiver.

 Frequently Asked Questions:

 

Where to go and when?  
Check in/ registration will take place starting at 7 pm at the main entrance of the church. Please park in the parking lot of the church. We will have volunteers to greet and direct you. Sleep out begins at 10:00-10:30pm. 

  

What about food? 
Upon arrival there will be sandwiches and light fare as well a light breakfast in the morning. If you think you will need more sustenance than this, you are encouraged to eat before you come. If you have special dietary needs, please bring whatever you require with you.

 

But what if it rains? 
Our event goes on rain or shine! You are encouraged to bring umbrellas, tarps/plastic if the forecast calls for rain.

 

Items you should bring with you:

Please bring a sleeping bag, comforter or blanket and cardboard to sleep on or a cardboard box to sleep in.

Bring appropriate clothing for the weather and any personal medications.

Smart devices are encouraged so you can post, text, instagram, tweet, etc. about your experience. Please make sure your devices are fully charged, as there will not be any electricity available for participants.

 

Please Do Not Bring:
Tents, air mattresses, pillows, extra blankets, or alcohol/drugs.

 

What if I can't make it or I will be late?

We will be "on call" all day Saturday until the last sleeping bag is rolled up on Sunday morning.  

 

Wake-up Call

Wake-up call will be around 6:00 am with a light breakfast including coffee/juice. Afterwards, we will have a debrief/wrap up gathering at 7:30am. 
The event will officially end at 8:00 am.
